James: Scattered, Alternative, Whole

The book of James invites us to consider what it means to live lives that are marked by allegiance to Jesus, and he doesn’t mince words: that life will result in a totally alternative reality than the world can offer. In fact, it should offer an alternative reality! So as the church goes in a scattered way into the world and embraces her alternative allegiance and ethic, she actually creates communities of wholeness.
